Where the stones and metals come from, and what we can and cannot prove about them.
Sourcing claims are easy to make and hard to check. Here is what we can document and what we cannot.
Grown by CVD and HPHT in Chinese and Indian facilities, graded by IGI. No mining, no displacement of communities, and a fraction of the water use of mined stones. They are chemically identical to mined diamond — this is a sourcing choice, not a quality compromise.
Silicon carbide, grown in the same industrial tradition as semiconductor wafers. We buy rough and cut it in Wuzhou, which is why we can offer calibrated sizes rather than whatever is in the tray. Moissanite has no mining footprint at all.
Sapphire, ruby, emerald and spinel-toned stones grown in the same labs. Colour is matched by eye against a master set; hardness varies by material, so we recommend the tougher stones (corundum, spinel) for daily-wear rings.
925 sterling silver from licensed Chinese refiners, alloyed to 92.5% silver with copper. Solid 9K, 14K and 18K gold is sourced as grain and alloyed in-house; we do not sell gold-plated brass as "gold". Where we use recycled metal for a specific order, it is stated on the quote.
Boxes are paper-wrapped rather than plastic-laminated, pouches are cotton, and certificates ship in the same box as the piece. Wholesale orders can be packed without branded packaging if the buyer is fulfilling under their own label.
We are not certified carbon neutral and we do not publish a "sustainability score". The honest position is that lab-grown stones avoid mining, our metals come through licensed refiners, and our audit paperwork is available on request.
